Neighborhood Link Offers Free Web Sites

Neighborhood Link is a civic communications tool that enables neighborhood associations across the United States to create their own free, interactive web sites, designed to build stronger communities and encourage civic. There are more than 14,000 neighborhoods involved in cities such as Atlanta, Jacksonville, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Diego, St. Petersburg, Tampa and Tucson.

Each neighborhood site has information and contains interactive areas to discuss relevant community issues, a place for neighbors to put up their own family pages so neighbors can meet each other. There are neighborhood meeting schedules, lists of board of directors members and histories of the associations. The crime section posts links to all police and public safety web sites on each neighborhood's site.

Neighborhood Link's newest service is the Neighborhood Link Clubs and Organizations program, offering free web sites for community organizations and other special interest clubs such as gardening clubs, PTAs, Cub Scout troops, etc. The sites have similar features to what the neighborhood sites offer, including discussion areas, online calendars, newsletters, photos and graphics.

This Internet-based community network has also created a newsletter, which is available online (www.neighborhoodlink.com/press/newsltr.htm), by fax or regular mail. Contact J.R. Massa toll-free at 888-241-0123 or by email at jr@neighborhoodlink.com.
