Dear Residents,
This was a matter of discussion at the Board Meetings. Unfortunately, this situation can not be easily resolved. While there are owners wanting to re-open the Great Rooms there are others that feel keeping it lock is the only way to prevent the vandalism. Their main concern is what would cost the entire COA to replace the equipment in the Great Room should it, in fact, be stolen. Notwithstanding the previous, the Board of Administration considered organizing a committee. The Great Room committee would be in charge of patrolling the Great Room at all times. Obviously, shifts would be taken. Unfortunately, not a lot of residents responded to the Board of Administrations request for assistance. This does not mean that the issue can not be revisited. Should you strongly feel this way, please present a formal petition to the Board of Administration with a possible solution to the main concern which is vandalism and security.
Cordially,
Management
I've felt the same way. I miss shooting pool at night. I suggested the room be re-opened at a meeting, and the board was rather reluctant, understandably, but since we have cameras in there, we may as well get the ball rolling and try it. It would be CLEARLY understood, no children are allowed without adult supervsion, PERIOD. That is a rule, period, and the cameras would be there to back that up. This is condoiminium community, and as a result, children just don't have a place to play. It's one of the things you sacrfiice when you move into a facility such as this in the first place.
To ask anyone to come down and sit in the room while it's open or patrol the room is unrealistic. No one even remotely wants to do that. However, if the Great Room is left open, then some people on property could be given the responsibility of closing and locking the room at night, so we could all use it until that time. I believe the rule is that the Great Room must be closed at 11pm on Sunday thru Thursday, and midnight on Friday and Saturday.
