The UPC of KCKHA/ New Address
The UPC of KCKHA is now open and available to offer assistance with the concerns of our communities. We did have a one stop link to the agencies that can provide jobs, utilities assistance, rent assistance, mental health, substance abuse, food assistance, clothing,
housing issues, etc.
For years the UPC has been in motion to provide this assistance, however it is in just the last 3 years that we have been taken out operation by the powers that be. However we are back and ready to assist in providing these services to our own communities. In collaboration with organizations such as IBSA-KCK, K-State, Southern Baptist Ministries, United Way, Heart of America, Havenside Center, Associated Youth Services, EOF, Wyandotte Mental Health, SWAN, VANA, Metropolitan Lutheran Minitries, Turner House, USD 500, Project Eagle, UNOI, NEBA, Home Front, HUD, El Centro and of course Kansas City Kansas Housing Authority we have been able to provide the wrap around services that are much needed in our communities. We are in the process of moving to new office space. As soon as we can we will share this very important information. We are awaiting approval by HUD for the space we are requesting. In the meantime to contact anyone of the UPC members call 913-281-3300 and ask for our new Administrative Co-ordinator,
Victor Hernandez of KCKHA.
Victor comes to us through the resignation of Marc Marcano. We are looking forward to our newly restructered UPC Board and Victor growing together.

Board of Commisioners of KCKHA
On the third Thursday of every month you are invited to attend the meeting of the Governing Board of the KCKHA, come out and get involved in the system that dictates what goes on in your commuinity. It is past time for us a viable part of Wyandotte county to get involved and in the know, about what takes place in our homes. It takes a village to raise the children. Let your voices be heard.

UPC of KCKHA Elections
The UPC as undergone a period of stagnation. For the last three years we have allowed for the powers that be to take control of our organization, however, we have since regained control. We have re-elected Pamela D. McKnight as President of the UPC. We have also elected new Presidents for each site.
Cyrus K. Holiday Pres. Pamela D. McKnight.
Chalet Manor, President, Jean Hall and Vice Pres. of the UPC. Grandview Park, President, Yolandra Brockman and Secretary of UPC. Douglas Heights, President, Shirley Barnes. Belrose Manor,President, Candace Brown and Treasurer of UPC.
Rochelle Bowser, Assis. Serectary of UPC.
We are looking forward to putting in motion ideas that will assist the HA community as a whole as well as partnering in a more productive manner with KCKHA and it's staff.
The recent investigation concerning the E.D. of KCKHA is being addressed at this time to give more clarity as to the actual facts surrounding the allegations of Ferderal Funding being utilized for a non-Federal project. The UPC is working with the Board of Commisioners, as well as Tom Steibel to get absolutes as it relates to this idea.
Now that we are back in proper operation we will do our best to keep the community informed as to what is taking place in our communities. Be sure and check our web-site monthly to recieve updates as they relate to the HA residents as well as KCKHA partnerships and projects, and by all means feel free to makes comments that are of interest to the HA communities in the discussion section of this web-site. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
Peace to All,
Pamela D. McKnight, President of The United Presidents Council of KCKHA
