Louisville Suzuki String Assoc. The Louisville Suzuki String Association (LSSA) supports Suzuki activities in the Louisville region for Suzuki students, families, and teachers. LSSA has been in existence since 1966, and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. LSSA offers a Fall Suzuki Workshop each October and a Summer Suzuki Institute each June for new beginners through advanced students, ages 3-18, in violin, viola, and cello. LSSA also offers both Merit and Financial Need scholarships for Suzuki students and teachers. For information about the Suzuki approach to music education or about scholarships go to the Our Pages section of this website. SUZUKI INSTITUTE The 2009 Suzuki Institute is June 7-12, 2009. The Institute Brochure and Application Form will be posted in the Our PDFs section of this website. Scholarship application forms for the Institute will also be in the Our PDFs section of this website. Please email LSSA@bellsouth.net with any questions. UPCOMING SUZUKI EVENTS Teacher Trainer Joanne Bath will teach the Suzuki introductory class Every Child Can on August 16th, 9:15-5PM. Not instrument specific. Open to teachers, parents,and others. $45. Send check made out to LSSA to LSSA, School of Music, Univ. of Louisville, Lou. KY 40292. Starting Sept 14,2008, Teacher Trainer Hiroko Driver Lippman will teach Suzuki Violin Book 1. For college credit and/or to register with SAA. Contact LSSA@bellsouth.net for information. NOVEMBER 15 SUZUKI HOMECOMING WORKSHOP AND CONCERT WITH LOUISVILLE ORCHESTRA MEMBERS AND SUZUKI ALUMNI IN MEMORY OF LOUISVILLE SUZUKI FOUNDER VIRGINIA SCHNEIDER: Workshop begins at 2 PM at the School of Music. Concert is at 4:30 PM. Suzuki teachers will receive list of concert pieces for students to prepare. |
