Men's Mission Statement:
The men of SHBC have 4-goals to guide our meetings.
1. To praise and honor the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
2. Seek ways to enhance our unity as men of faith and to motivate others both saved and unsaved to become willing participants.
3. Understand the needs of the Church (SHBC), and find the means and leaders to address those needs.
4. Finally, to enjoy each other's company in Christian Fellowship.

"And of the Gadites who separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains" (1 Chronicles 12:8; 12:32). "The men of Issachar,...had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred..."

There are five characteristics that the LORD is looking for a mighty man:
1. Separation unto the LORD

2. Men of spiritual warfare (Eph. 6:11, 18); men fit for battle and are ready to be equipped for service to the Lord, to guard their families and be a witness to others.

3. Men of the sword, who can handle the shield and buckler, or men of God's Word, faith and prayer.

4. Men whose faces are like lions (or fixed on God-ordained objectives.)

5. Men who are as swift as a doe, a "deer" on the mountains. Men who can walk in dangerous places and keep their balance. Like the men of Isaacher, they knew the times and the seasons:

"And of the children of Isaachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment." (1 Chronicles 12:32).
