Spay Neuter Assistance for Pets S.N.A.P., or Spay Neuter Assistance for Pets, Inc., is based in Muscatine, Iowa. It was created June 1995 to help people spay or neuter their pets. It is a non-profit organization that subsidizes, based on income level, clients' spay/neuter veterinary bills. S.N.A.P. operates in Muscatine County and adjacent areas in eastern Iowa. For other areas please call SPAY/USA for a veterinarian near you who is providing lower cost spay/neuter services. Telephone: 1-800-248-7729., or see their web site at http://www.spayusa.org/ New Expanded Program In an effort to reduce the birth of unwanted kittens for which there are not enough homes, S.N.A.P. is now replacing ''The Barn (OUTSIDE) Mother Cat & Kittens Spay Neuter Program with a new expanded program called THE Barn/OUTDOORS CATS & KITTENS SPAY NEUTER PROGRAM. This program is open to all farmers and persons on acreage so they can spay the females at $10 per cat and the males at $5 per cat. Some participating veterinarians require a minimum of 3 cats to enter/use the program. Some do not. Please call SNAP at 563-264-2370 to learn if their is a participating veterinarian near you.
