Nashville Teens Give Back!
Nashville Youth PULSE (People United Leading and Serving Everywhere) is an organization that makes it easy for teens to help make Nashville a better place through volunteer service. PULSE is a collaboration of Hands On Nasvhille, the Oasis Center, and the Frist Foundation.
Since its founding in 1997, over 2000 teens have volunteered, giving more than 10,000 hours of service to Nashville and surrounding communities. Teen participation has included things from working with children and seniors to helping clean up after the Tornado that devstated East Nashville. There will almost always be a project that will interest you, and if not, you can create one. PULSE is made by teens, for teens.
How Do I Get Involved?
First, you must be between the ages of 12 and 19. (We have ways for adults to get involved too!)
Second, you must attend a short orientation at the Oasis Center any Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.(Oasis Center is located at 1415 16th Avenue South on Music Row. Call 327-4455 for directions and to let us know you are coming.).
Then, after you are signed up you will receive a monthly project calendar in the mail listing 12 to 20 projects for your selection. Pick the ones that fit your interests and schedule then call or e-mail PULSE to sign up for the projects of your choice and go for it!
Our Mission
Nashville Youth PULSE promotes youth as resources and strengthens the Nashville community by creating learning opportunities which develop an ethic of lifelong service through youth/adult partnerships and citywide youth volunteerism.
