Metro Des Moines Clubs & Organizations

The Polk County Historical Society works to document and preserve the history of Des Moines and the Capitol City, and Polk County, Iowa. The group usually meets the 2nd Sunday of all months, except June, July and August, at the King Buffet at 86th & Douglas at 1:00 P.M. Holidays or special meetings may change the day from the 2nd Sunday. An optional dinner begins at 12, but is not required of attendees. Annual dues are $10 for a single, or $15 for a family, but there is no charge to be a website only member and post to the discussions or visit the meetings.
