The ''Week in the Highlands'' events collectively make a strong statement to our community and bring about big crowds and media coverage. In 2004, over 18,000 people attended the Week in the Highlands events, 12,000 of which is the attendance at the 2004 Belknap Fall Festival.

Highlands Community Ministries (HCM) serves 26 churches in the Highlands with programs including day care for young and old; meals on wheels for homebound; assistance for needy, handicapped and victims of abuse; and recreational opportunities for children that promote healthy lifestyles. The non profit programs combine the resources of people, facilities and finances to help those in need.
