.
The Gardeners' Guild of Braintree began a new community project involving the Marge Crispin Center, Guild Members, and community volunteers.

Past President and Guild founder Lucille Barton presented Director Pat Conrad of the Crispin Center with a grow light table for a stimulating new activity for members of the Center. At the invitation of Mrs. Barton, local gardening expert Mr. Tony Mollica visited the Center and demonstrated the use of the grow light table.

What started with a few flower seeds and small tomato plants has grown into a thriving program at the Center. The grow light system was so successful that the plantings soon outgrew the table and are now located in a new garden area at the front of the building facing Sunset Lake. Visitors routinely enjoy the tomatoes they have grown, as well as the two large planters at the Center's entrance.

When the outdoor gardening season winds down, Mrs. Barton organizes indoor gardening activities for the Center utilizing the grow light table for the propagation of succulents and African violets.
