About Us
The Detroit Historic Neighborhoods Coalition (DHNC)was established in 1999 for residents to have a united voice in their community's development and revitalization. It is a Michigan non-profit organization working for:

a) Improved Quality of City Life
b) Education of the Owners and the Government to the tax, financial and image benefits of restoration
c) Empowerment of Residents as to their strength in numbers including:
Financial - via income and property taxes
Voting - nearly 30,000 living in these districts

The DHNC strives to increase the awareness of the cultural heritage, distinguishing architectural features as well as promote stability in historic neighborhoods


Who We Serve
The DHNC represents approximately 9,000 homes and over 30,000 voters. Annually, member neighborhood associations voluntarily provide funding for the organization. People of all occupations, ages and cultures reside in these historic communities. Below is a list of the member historic districts.
