Suggestions/Mandated use of fund
10% of all funds collected must be used or set aside for each of the following categories: open space; historic preservation and affordable (not low income) housing. The remaining 70% can be alloted (spent or reserved) in any way within the three categories. The options are many, and very flexible, ranging from actual purchase of land; development of housing trusts; purchase of deed restrictions; actual restoration. As a committee, we want to recommend to Town meeting, options that will maximize the use of the funds, with equity throughout Town, whenever possible. Suggestions are welcome.

Be involved!
We have a tremendous opportunity to make a difference in Braintree with these dedicated funds. While the voting members of the Committee are set by law, these meetings are open to the public, and we welcome community participation.
