Christian Nursing Service
The Christian Nursing Service is an organization that promotes and delivers health awareness within our community, that is client centered and focused on prevention and wellness.
CNS has been providing health care to those in need in our county since 1968.
Mission
Our mission is to reach out to people without regard to race, creed or their ability to pay, who need assistance in their immediate individual and family health concerns by:
- Seeking a broad base of financial and volunteer support.
- Maintaining high visibility in our community.
- Striving to educate our clients on health and family issues.
- Providing facilities that are conducive to the welfare and safety of our clients and volunteers.
- Elevating the care and services we provide by meeting the changing health needs of our community.
Programs
The Christian Nursing Service performs many different services for the community. CNS operates the Meals on Wheels program, Well Baby Clinic, Adult Clinic, Clothing Pantry, Coats for Kids, and Telecheck. In collaboration with St. Claire Hospital, CNS also supports Angels in Tow.
Donations
CNS remains dependent upon donations from private donors and churches to meet its budget each year. Donations, whether monetary, clothing, or time are always needed and greatly appreciated.
Children's clothing (sizes infant to 14) can be delivered to the Well Baby Clinic, located at 802 South Mill Street in Crawfordsville, on Wednesday or Thursday mornings from 9 – 11 AM.
Monetary contributions are tax deductible and can be sent to the Christian Nursing Service, PO Box 52, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
Volunteer drivers are always needed for Meals on Wheels. Volunteers may drive as often as one day per week every other month, or as infrequently as one day a month. Anyone willing to drive, either on a regular basis or as an emergency driver, should contact Jim Sexton at 364-0654.
