Royal Palm Park Connector Project

Oakland Park Parks and Leisure Department is responsible for the funding and construction of a pedestrian walkway connecting our neighborhood to Royal Palm Park. The original design phase was 8/1-9/30/06, bid phase 9/30-11/29/06, and construction phase 11/29/06-3/29/07. However, unanticipated engineering challenges are delaying this project. We look forward to safely walking to Royal Palm Park.

Construction delays

According to Brian Hopper, OP Parks Superintendent, there are complications in constructing a walkway to Royal Palm Park that include obtaining easements and shoreline erosion. No dates for construction have been set.
