New Trash Carts
Metro's new trash carts are now rolling out to homes in the Urban Services District. Nearly 120,000 residents will receive a new 96-gallon, rolling trash cart for weekly trash pick up. Cart delivery is expected to be complete by summer.
The new trash collection program will use automated and semi-automated trucks for safer, more efficient trash collection that continues our efforts to make Nashville a cleaner and greener city.
Nashville's murder rate drops to a 37-year low in 2004
Chief Ronal Serpas today announced that murder in Nashville dropped to a 37-year low in 2004. Fifty-eight persons were murdered in Nashville last year. That is the lowest total since 1967, when 58 persons were the victims of homicide, and is a 19.4% drop from 2003’s final murder count of 72.
Nashville is Nation's Hottest City for Business Relocation
Nashville is the nation’s top city for business expansion and relocation, according to “Expansion Management” magazine, Nashville Mayor Bill Purcell and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Partnership 2010 announced today.
