On March 1, 2005, 12 Midwestern states have the right to request a F-R-E-E copy of their credit report from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies:

Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

The process started December 1, 2004 for the 1st group - Western states.

The third group started June 1, 2005 - Southern states.
