• January – Spirit of Mesa Neighborhood Conference – lots of winners in all categories including Neighborhood Leader of the Year!
• January – Roof Rat Meeting at Frost Elementary School. Informed everyone not present of the results in our newsletter.
• January – Debbie Driscol, Sandy Scully, Linda Murphy and Alma Jones teach a class at “Spirit of Mesa” Awards Conference on “Activate Your Neighborhood” on 1-31-04.
• February – Clean Sweeps arrive. Kristine Malcolm coordinator. Since cutbacks from the city, we will only receive these 1 time per year instead of the 2 we previously have. The city chose the month of February for MM.
• April – 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Community Pincic. Linda Murphy, coordinator.
• April – 2nd Annual planned Neighborhood Meeting with MPD, Neighborhood Outreach. Linda Murphy, coordinator.
• September – 2nd Ambassador Celebration held at Coffee Cabana. 20 Welcome Baskets were taken there for the Ambassadors to give to new neighbors.
• September – New Welcome Basket lady. Debbie Glick, organizer.
• September – Community-wide garage sales.
• October – New safety stop lines on Pecos and Emerson where we have had numerous “close calls” over the years.
• November – Emergency Meeting with all residents after homicide on Portobello. Nancy Borg, coordinator.

• December – Christmas Luminaries with participation on most all the streets.

2005

• April – Planning Meeting with Neighborhood Leaders for upcoming year. Those present: Shawna Fletcher Carey, Debbie Glick, Sandra Scully, Linda Murphy and Alma Jones.

• May – Began working w/AzCATS in their TNR Program. Dale Howell, Coordinator. AzCATS is using our neighborhood as a model neighborhood to use this project as a research study to follow the effectiveness of their method of TNR, due in part to the well-defined boundaries and the interest and cooperation of the residents.
• May – Began preliminaries of the Security Lighting Project w/1st meeting, 5-23-05. Cecil Duarte, Coordinator.
• June – Neighborhood Children Workshops begin –with classes in, scrapbooking, leatherwork and anime art. Shawna Fletcher Carey, coordinator.
• July – Workshops continue with scuba diving, crochet, stamping and movies-in-the-park. Shawna Fletcher Carey, coordinator.
• August – Security Lighting Project: All dark areas have been identified and contacts are being conducted with the various neighbors involved whose homes these lights will eventually go on.
• November – 1st Vehicle and Craft Show, Doug Hanson coordinator for cars. Barb Melnick coordinator for crafts.
• November – Alma Jones won a $5000 award from the Bank of America for leadership to be donated to the charity of choice. It went to Mesa United Way and $2,500 came back to the neighborhood.
• December – 5th Annual Christmas Toy Drive


2006
• January – Our newsletter begins to go quarterly due to cutbacks from the City. JanFebMarch was the 1st edition.
• March – 5th Annual Marlborough Mesa Neighborhood Directory is passed out to all homes along with this month’s newsletter. DeAnna Fay prepares this.
• April – Our 6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Community Picnic. Linda Murphy, Coordinator.
• June – Clean Sweeps arrive. Kristine Malcolm coordinator. Since cutbacks from the city, we will no longer receive these. This is our last Neighborhood Clean Sweep.
• July – Turned in our PRIDE Grant booklet with all receipts and info regarding grant for $2,500 for the 2005-2006 fiscal year.
• July – A group of 4 “trial” neighborhoods in Mesa began their 1st meeting to set standards for a new Volunteer Mesa Code Team. Three families from MM were on that team. Meetings ranged from every 2 weeks to 1 per month. It was finalized February 2007.
• August – Started new website in addition to Neighborhood Link which will allow us more flexibility. Paul Simpson is building it. We allotted $300 for this and gave to Paul for a 3-year period.
• September – Jim Jones and Mark Foster installed the final Security Lights from the PRIDE Grant of $300 allotted for that project.
• October – Our quarterly newsletter got 2 sponsors that will pay for our newsletter for 1 year. They ad will appear on the back of each newsletter. They are: Desert Schools and Sunflower Farmers Market.
• November – Commander Steve Toland of the Dobson Substation called for a meeting in Marlborough due to six burglaries/break-ins that happened over a 2-day period. This concerned them. We called a meeting on November 15th at the park with 75-100 people in attendance. They gave some very good tips!
• December – Our 6th Annual Christmas Toy Drive was on Dec. 9 at 9:30 am. We decided to do a breakfast this year so people could stop by before heading out for shopping. Good turnout! Will probably do that again next year.



2007
• February – Our 6th Annual Marlborough Mesa Directory of Services and Businesses went out with the quarterly newsletter.
• February – A group of 4 “trial” neighborhoods in Mesa began their 1st meeting to set standards for a new Volunteer Mesa Code Team in July 2006. Three families from MM were on that team. Meetings ranged from every 2 weeks to 1 per month. It was finalized this month.
• March – Neighborhood Meeting at the park March 21 at 6:30 pm. Ray Villa, Code Compliance Director and Sam Jeppsen, Code Compliance Officer. That video is online on our website.
• June: 1 of 4 Mesa Neighborhoods to test a trial Code Compliance program. Presented at Council June 23.
• June - New site thru Neighborhood Link to log violations for this Code program.
• August – Re-Inspection Code Compliance fees implemented by the Mesa City Council, wherein fees will be charged to violators after courtesy notices are sent out. This is a direct result of the Mesa Code Team and Marlborough Mesa Residents who have worked since July 2006 to bring about preserving older neighborhoods in Mesa.
