Minutes from 3/26 TPNA Board Meeting

Crime report, Metro Council repoprt

Officer Jeff Artman had a list of 11 crimes that had been committed in the TPNA area, 6 of which had happened at Mid City Mall. He encouraged us to lock our parked cars and to hide valuables within them.

Joan had a question about graffiti in our alleys. Jeff reiterated that it's the homeowner's responsibility to clean it up ASAP, and that homeowners who have been cited already are subject to fines and/or court action. Some citations go back to April of 2008.

Tom Owen's administrative assistant, Terra Long, reported that funding of almost $9000 has been approved for installation of a pole and video camera for park surveillance and video recording. We had planned to paint a mural on the restroom in hopes it would deter the graffiti, but it's Olmsted Park policy to keep art off park structures.

Terra added that neighbors with sidewalks that have been dangerously lifted as a result of our recent storms should report them by address to Tom Owen. Some money has come into the system to repave the walks.

Recycling is now done by the route trash collectors using the usual trash trucks, but Terra told us that the recycling is sifted later and is not dumped in the landfill. Please call 311 if your recycling is not picked up on the scheduled day, but be aware that it might be picked up later than usual.
