Steering Committee to Review Budget

The Weed & Seed Steering Committee met December 16 to briefly discuss the upcoming budget process. The proposed budget will be submitted with a grant application for Year 2 of the Weed & Seed project.

The first year's budget is mainly aimed at "weeding" activities by providing funding to support efforts by the LMPD and the DEA in battling significant drug crime and violent crime in Shawnee. As the grant progresses years 2-5, activities will begin to shift toward "seeding" activities that aid PIT, Restoration, and Community Policing events.
