Housing Committee/Category Three Review

Responsibilities

The housing committee works with Metro Louisville and area residents to improve housing standards.

Category Three Review visits new housing developments and checks on structures scheduled for demolition.

News

The Category Three committee and Housing committee have been watching new homes being developed closely. If they see a violation they let the authorities know. They have had a lot of success with developers who are willing to follow the suggestions for new homes. One of the main things you will notice is that the developers are including architectural features in their designs that fit with the older homes in the area as well as keeping the home the right size. There are also porches being included.

Category Three review renewal

The category three review process will expire on the 8th of February. It is currently before the Metro Council. We hope that it will remain active until the new neighborhood plan is approved by Metro Louisville agencies.
