District 17 Update

District 17 Clean up

Our next District 17 Clean Up will be Saturday, April 15. We will meet at 8:30 a.m. inside the Lyndon Fire Station on Westport Road. Refreshments will be provided, as will all the materials you need to participate in the clean up. Our goal will be to clean Westport Road, but you are welcome to focus on roads in your neighborhood if you wish.


I hope you will give just a few hours of your day to help clean up District 17.

Flower Shower

Brightside’s Flower Shower program, scheduled for May, provides flowers to non-profit organizations to plant in public right-of-way. If you are interested in participating, contact MetroCall at 311 to be added to the mailing list. Letters will be mailed in early April.

IPL 101

How many of you have wondered if the house next door is in violation of the Property Maintenance Code? Have you thought about approaching a neighbor about improving their property but didn’t feel comfortable doing so? On Saturday, March 18 the Department of Inspections, Permits and Licenses will be conducting workshops, providing handouts and showing actual violations to assist residents in improving their neighborhood. The seminar will be from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Sullivan University.



You will, among other things, learn what constitutes a property violation, learn how to report violations and meet code enforcement officers. If you are interested, please call 574-3931.
