About Our Association
Who We Are The Historic Eastside Neighborhood Association (HENA) is a volunteer organization – we always need help. We encourage you to work on issues that you care about. By pooling our efforts, we can create positive changes in our community. Come to a neighborhood meeting – connect with energetic people and rewarding opportunities. Officers: President: Bob Carlson and Mary Jo Lusnak Secretary/Treasurer: Liz Doneghey Our Goals HENA continues to work toward these goals: To improve the quality of life for our neighbors, To raise the level of safety and security in our area, To develop a sense of community and to encourage social interaction and fun, To promote resident ownership of single family homes, To preserve the irreplaceable structures that make this district unique, To build City-wide awareness of our neighborhood’s contribution to Longmont, To foster communications between citizens and their government, and To influence public policy affecting our neighborhood. When/Where HENA Meets & Our Newsletter The Historic Eastside Neighborhood Association meets at 7:30 PM on alternating 2nd Thursday and 2nd Wednesday every other month. The first meeting of the year is on the 2nd Thursday of Jan. Meetings are held in the City of Longmont Civic Center Complex (350 Kimbark St.) Council Chambers. Everyone is invited. The Historic Eastside Neighborhood Association Newsletter keeps us connected. It announces events and describes ways for us to join together to improve the quality of life in our community. We learn about our neighbors and the histories of our houses. It also alerts us to problems that may require urgent action. Our free newsletters are published bimonthly, beginning in February. Volunteer block representatives distribute them to residences throughout the neighborhood. If you are not receiving a newsletter or if you can help with the distribution, please call Bob Carlson at 303-774-1997. Historic Eastside Neighborhood Assoc.
