Newsletter
Greetings and Happy New Year to
Residents of the Glenmorrie Neighborhood Association!
We’re starting 2005 with information that affects you as property owners and residents in the Glenmorrie area. Please take two minutes to cruise through the info. You will receive two additional mailings this year regarding general meetings. If you would like monthly updates via e-mail, please e-mail your address to Glenmorrie@aol.com. The neighborhood web-site is: www.neighborhoodlink.com/lakeoswego/glenmorrie/ We try to update the web-site frequently, but sometimes there just isn’t enough time in the day to get everything on the link in a timely manner. Call or e-mail a board member!
Old River Road
Signs have been posted by a private citizen and are not from Glenmorrie Neighborhood Association (but have included our name). There is a $100 per sign charge for illegal postings (on telephone poles, etc.). There are neighbors who are calling the city enforcement officer to ask that Glenmorrie Neighborhood Association stop posting the signs. The Glenmorrie Neighborhood Association board has not authorized postings nor are board members posting the information. If you have questions regarding the Old River Road signs, or other illegally posted signs, please call the city code enforcement officer, Brandon Buck, 503-699-7473 (Code of Enforcement, City of Lake Oswego, PO Box 369, LO, OR 97034)
Highway 43 Turn Lanes
Turn lanes were scheduled for fall of 2004, but due to the need to solve drainage issues on the highway, the city has postponed re-striping until drainage issues are resolved. The re-striping should be completed by fall, 2005.
Design Review Committee
Four neighbors have attended the training to be part of the design review committee. They are: Robin Bolton (rxrob30@yahoo.com 503-636-9576); Carolyne Jones, 503-636-1090; Bill and Estelle Mathers, 503-675-1610.
Two neighbors from Glenmorrie may attend pre-application meetings on behalf of the neighborhood association if you have taken the training to understand the application process.
If you would like to be trained to be on the invitation list for pre-application meetings issues in the Glenmorrie area, please call Eryn Deeming, 503-675-3730. Design meetings are on Thursday afternoons.
Safe Pathways for Pedestrian and Bike Traffic
Terri Bianco Hart is working with Hallinan Elementary, which has completed a survey on how students travel to school and where parents see problems. Results of the survey will be available later this month. If you would like the survey results, please request a copy from Glenmorrie@aol.com.
Glenmorrie Water Cooperative
Copies of The Story of the Glenmorrie Cooperative Association are available through Glenmorrie@aol.com. For those new to the area, Glenmorrie Cooperative Association is the water board. While not everyone in the neighborhood association is served by the water co-op, everyone in the water co-op are members of the Glenmorrie Neighborhood Association.
Affordable Housing Task Force
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26, City Hall, 6-8:30 pm. Affordable Housing Task Force plans to conduct a work session with neighborhood and business association reps. The session will focus on neighborhood demographics, current housing stock, opportunities for housing preservation and strategies for increasing available affordable housing. If you are considering future development on your property, you may want to attend this meeting to find out what recommendations are being made to the city. If you would like to be the official Glenmorrie representative and report back to the board with developments of the task force, please call Liz at 503-697-7727 or e-mail the board. The plan can be found on the following web-site (or contact the planning department for more information about the task force):
