2004 ELECTION PROCEDURES

Introduction:
In preparation for the coming election, the SLNC Governing Board shall appoint a committee to oversee the election process.

Election Day:
The election is to be held annually in September. The election will take pace at Micheltorena Street School, 1511 Micheltorena Street, in the school auditorium from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM, or another community location if the school is unavailable. In 2004, the Election will take place on September 18th.

Composition:
The Election Committee will consist of seven Stakeholders, one from each region, and be selected by the SLNC Governing Board. Candidates for the current election cannot serve on the Election Committee, nor can Governing Board Members make up a majority of the committee.

Responsibilities:
The Election Committee shall be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the SLNC election including, but not limited to:
„X Recommending the date, time, and location of the election in compliance with the SLNC bylaws.
„X Preparing and distributing related candidate information.
„X Overseeing eligibility and verification of all stakeholders and candidates.
„X Overseeing notification and outreach of the election and all processes connected with the election to the community.
„X Securing third-party administration of the election as is necessary.
„X Preparing or working with DONE to prepare all materials needed for the election.
„X Following-up with all entities upon the conclusion of the election (e.g. announcement of results, storage of election records, posting of evaluation of the election process.)
