I would be interested but here it is in a nutshell. I believe we have made a very large investment in our homes. I believe that if we maintain our homes in a manner that does not make the neighborhood look bad. It is the homeowners property, leave them alone. If their neighbors are not complaining and you live on the other side of the addition. Mind your own business.
If a guy has a boat or a camper and has it on their driveway for short periods of time. What is that hurting you. If they put it there for months and never move it, or they rent out the camper. We have a problem. If weeds are so high you can`t see the sidewalk or driveway. We have a problem. If there is a washer and dryer on their porch, we have a problem. If they have a toilet on thier lawn, we have a problem. We don`t live in a junkyard. If a guy works on his car in his driveway, who cares. If a guy has a car in his driveway all the time that is torn apart and is left that way, we have a problem.
Basically, leave people alone and mind your own business. When you start paying their mortgage. Then you can start giving them orders. The HOA board should be paying bills and maintaining contracts. Not putting their thumb down on their neighbors. I am a very outgoing and friendly person. I also am the type of person who takes no crap. I also would go out of my way to help my neighbor out. I would help the people who need it even if I could not stand them. That is the way I am. I do not have to like them to do the Christian or the right thing. I believe the two to be the same.
So in writing this. I can`t guarantee I would not be in violation of covenants from time to time. So I, at times would not be eligible for an office in our HOA. If this is acceptable to you then yes I would be interested. If it is not, than no I would not be willing. I would refuse to go after a neighbor who is enjoying their property the way they want to as long as their property is maintained. If they live like they belong in a junkyard. I would not have a problem doing whatever would need to be done. I would use our covenants as a guide not as commandments from God.
