The gpd will have additional officers on the street patrolling for drunk drivers during spring break for the next 2 weeks.It will start March 7 and ru through Sunday March 16

This is funded by the impaired driver mobilization grant and sponsered by TXDOT.The grant's aim is enforcing DWI laws for al drives with a special emphasis on minors under the influence.

So far in 2008 Garland Police have made 70 arrests for DWI- eight of these were minors.

In Tx someone is hurt or killed in an alcohol related crash every 19 MINUTES and drunk driving claims 5 LIVES PER DAY.This yar Graland has had 3 fatality crashes with the most recent being alcohol related. Keep Garland Safe- DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!

The GPD just sent a correction.The days will be the same as it is funded and set by a state grant - it is NOT spring break in GISD. This new format does not allow me to correct the main entry.
