As youth take to the streets for summer fun, parents and guardians should make sure children are wearing approved helemts when riding their bicycles.

FORT WORTH POLICE

The Fort Worth Police Department reminds residents that all youth less than 18 are required by law to wear a protective helmet when riding their bikes on public streets or park property.

CITATION

Parents of youth who ride without helmets will receive a citation. Trauma statistics indicate that wearing a protective helmet can save lives and reduce injuries of bicyclists by 85%.
