Stray Animals

(This is from the Fort Worth City Page, Published April 25, 2005)
More than 20,000 lost or homeless dogs and cats are impounded each year at the Fort Worth Animal Care & Control Center--animals that have been abandoned, neglected and never have enjoyed the comforts of a loving home. And all are waiting for a second change at life.

Pet Licenses

All pets in Fort Worth are required to be retrained, have current rabies vaccinations and license tags. Animals running loose pose a potential threat to residents and can be a nuisance to those who live, work or play in the neighborhood. The Animal Care & Control Division responds to such complaints by impounding stray animals and ticketing owners who do not follow animal control laws.

Adoption

More adoptions mean more chances to save lives. Animals are availble for adoption from noon to 6:00 pm (weekdays) and on (weekends) from noon to 5:00 pm. Dogs are $70:00 and cats are $50.00, which includes a city license and micoship; initial shots and a voucher for the rabies vaccination and spay-neuter operation at a particitaing vet clinic.
