Fort Bend County
Brazos Landing is located in Fort Bend County, Texas. Fort Bend County, "Houston's Finest Address," is one of the nation's fastest growing areas yet it is rich in history. Fort Bend offers a wide range of options to the many who seek a quality suburban lifestyle with urban amenities.
Located in the Coastal Plain Region of Texas, it was originally a Spanish Land Grant selected by Stephen F. Austin to be the first colony of settlers. These pioneers traveled up the Brazos River landing at a bend, giving Fort Bend its name. Through generations of Texans, the land holdings remained intact which eventually enabled developers to acquire vast tracts to be developed into "Master Planned Communities."
Fort Bend has more master planned communities than any other county of the United States, each having been individually designed to create their own unique look and accent on lifestyle. These planned communities are developed ideally to achieve a balance between residential and retail, interspersed with industrial as well as office space. While these communities have been created within guideline standards and are maintained through deed restrictions, they also aspire to provide affordable amenities. Fort Bend's range includes 320 acres of lakes, over 600 acres of parks and more than 250 holes of golf, not to mention tennis, swimming, and state of the art workout facilities. Our surrounding byways and highways such as Highway 6, 59 South, 288, and our still growing Beltway 8 make Fort Bend easily accessible to downtown Houston, the Galleria Area as well as the Medical Center and Museum area ….. Almost any community is just minutes away from the new mall at First Colony as well as movie theaters and varied dining facilities to satisfy the taste of any palate. Houses of worship of almost every faith are conveniently located to grace the spiritual needs of our county's population.
The Fort Bend School System is nationally recognized and for those of you wanting continuing education close to home, the University of Houston has opened a branch in Fort Bend. Wharton Junior College as well as Houston Community College also offer classes in continuing education.
Our ice arena is the practice facility of the Houston Aeros, our indoor soccer facility the home of the Hot Shots. Our new natatorium will be a swimmer's delight. The George Foundation funds the George Ranch, operational in nature, yet offering guided tours of the original homestead and Fort Bend County Museum.
Fort Bend has something for everyone!!!
