GIANT RATS IN SETTLERS CROSSING

i am absolutely horrified that i have now discovered RATS (not mice) RATS in my garage.  has anyone else had this problem?  i live on lariat trail.  where could they be coming from????? we have no open trash containers in our garage and are absolutely disgusted and apalled.  i have NEVER seen a RAT in my life until 4 days ago. this is a nice, clean neighborhood.  i'm confused.  let's put it this way:  many tears have been shed over this.  i've been putting poison out in the garage and they carry it off.  HELP!!!!

When you say rats, are you talking about the people that let their kids drive 4-wheelers around the developement, or people that don't pay their dues?

If you are talking about the furry things, yes, they are here...I found the remains of one an owl had shredded on my driveway. You just get these and mice etc. when you live near fields.

There are several types of Rats native to Oklahoma.  Kangaroo rats, cotton rats etc.  You will also find scorpions, black widows, snakes, possum, and other mammals from time to time too.

This was a field 7 years ago, and we have fields west of us.  That wildlife has to go somewhere.  Just buy some traps.

I LOVE Fred Ziffel's humor first off! We need you on the board Fred!

As for the rats, I had a baby hawk in my front yard the other night 'going to town' in bushes and boston ivy and I can only assume it was after a rodent of sorts. My next door neighbor had a rat up her downspout from the guttering a couple of years ago, so a possible nesting place for these rural habitants!

I consider myself lucky, overhead garage door was installed to make a tight close at bottom! Knock on wood, not one rodent in my garage in almost five years! Others in my cul-de-sac aren't so lucky with their doors and have had mice. Sorry, no advice to give in your situation except leave door down as much as possible and I wish the four foot snake in my backyard could have helped your situation!
