Letter From the New WHNA President

Greetings from the neighborhood ! My name is Brent Zboyovski and I've been a local resident in West Highlands for about 4 years now. Over the last year, I've been getting involved more in the city and the neighborhoods to save and preserve what we value as civic citizens, but also to help usher in change as we accommodate new citizens and new businesses. The way in which this happens is a very interesting and exciting process to me.

There are many challenges ahead as the importance of neighborhood associations grow, but interest in them is somewhat tepid. City Council is relying more and more on the efforts of these organizations to educate and involve the affected communities surrounding zoning changes and variances, liquor licensing, policing and safety, and the public process.

I also see many local organizations duplicating efforts and I think you'd agree that West Highlands exists in the broader context of Northwest Denver. I've had a chance to speak with our connecting neighborhoods and I'll bring back the news, issues, and information surrounding us.

I encourage you to join the board as an active committee chair either working to resolve a community problem or issue or to develop an event around your interests and skills. I promise you - you won't regret it.
