CRIME WATCH UPDATE - NOVEMBER 15, 2007
Greetings, Neighbors,
'Tis Thursday afternoon, and the bulky trash is being picked up. Thanks to all who will not be putting out any more bulky trash until December 6.
We must issue a warning, though, about putting out papers including your personal information which have not been shredded. In fact, shredded paper can go into any recycling dumpster (or the garbage). Please remember that anything you put at curbside can be picked over by anyone passing by. A Baumgarten resident found two women with flashlights going through her papers and then taking off with a bucket of her "torn up" papers. Their license number is J76-KKC, if you see them in your area.
Other residents on Sikorski have reported a strong, pungent odor about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, the 13th) in front and rear of their home. They drove around the area seeking a source, suspecting a meth lab. The police said drugs may have been carried in a car, so please call 911 if you become suspicious. If enough people call in, a meth lab could be pin-pointed. This goes for hearing gun shots as well.
On the 12th about 1:10 p.m., a Jim Miller resident had a utility trailer stolen.
On the 5th, a Cessna Court resident's vehicle was burglarized. (BMV).
On Friday, the 2nd, about 9:10 p.m., another Jim Miller resident had his truck's window broken out on the driver's side.
Did anyone witness these incidents and call 911 to report a "Crime in Progress"?
On October 30, in the alley between Van Pelt and Baumgarten, a resident had a gun pulled on him, and a cable company employee was robbed.
Other reports were concerns about vehicles blocking alleyways and businesses dealing with car repairs being run from a personal residence. Both are illegal. If you are sure about a business, call 311 for Code Department to check it out. Get a "request for call back" number).
From Kerry Goodwin, we have a way to report Crime Tips: Go to www.fergusonroad.org website, click the icon in top left corner, enter crime tip info, and click on the "submit" button. Your info goes directly to DPD Neighborhood Police Officers email box and to Sgt. Steven Armon.
Anyone who has taken VIP training can take the Skywatch Tower training on December 1.
Thanks for "watching out!" Just remember, if it's a "Crime in Progress," say so when you call 911.
