ATTENTION ALL HSCW RESIDENTS! (Updated 6-7-07)

IMPORTANT MESSAGE!

It is now six weeks since my surgery. The recovery has been harder than I expected. Hopefully I will be up and running again in the next six weeks. I've been in physical therapy for four weeks now and have a minimum of another four weeks to go.

As soon as I can get to feeling a little better, we will have another meeting.

I need to let all of you know what has been going on with me. I was getting everything set up with my new computer when my brother developed a problem. Long story short, he had two surgeries that were six days apart and the end result was that he had Melanoma cancer in a tumor behind his left eye. His eye had to be removed.

Needless to say, this problem has keep me totally tied up. Now that he is home and recuperating from his last surgery, it's now time for yet another surgery this year for myself. My brothers doctor felt that I needed to go ahead and have this done now, but didn't elaborate as to why. After wearing the brace on my left arm last year for over nine months, it put too much stress on my right arm. I now have two torn cartilages and one partially torn ligament in that arm along with a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder that is pinching a nerve in my neck. I've been in tremendous pain, so the surgeon said both these things need to be repaired. I'll be having two surgeries at one time on Thursday, April 19th. After surgery, I will be in a sling 24/7 and won't be allowed to move my right arm any at all for about six weeks, with the total recovery period being three months.

I planned on having a meeting with you before all this happened and have now run out of time. I will get a meeting together as soon as I'm able to with someone helping me handle it. I'll let everyone know when the meeting gets scheduled, but I'm sure it won't be for at least a month from the date of my surgery with what all I'm having done.

Also, I've been paying for the crime watch voice mail service out of my pocket in the past. With all the extra expenses as of late, I can't afford to pay it this time. The amount due is $29.07. If we don't get any donations to cover this amount, it will be disconnected in the next few weeks and won't be re-connected until we are able to get enough money together to get it back up and running.
