~ Volunteering, Things you need to know ~

All volunteers working directly with the children need to have a criminal background check* (not financial info). The principal has assured us that this is very routine and can be done easily online, or by coming to the school and using their computer in the lobby. If you are interested in volunteering or have questions, please call Nancy Breeyear, Volunteer Coordinator

Details are at www.cms.k12.nc.us/departments/volunteersPartnerships (then select volunteer screening)
or www.cms.k12.nc.us (select schools, select Montclaire, then website, see their newsletter, calendar etc.

~ Ongoing Needs ~

The Media Center: Help is always needed in the media center shelving, filing and that type of thing.
Chaperones: Students take trips throughout the year to places such as Discovery Place, Lazy Five Ranch or the Raptor Center
Tutors: by Semester: You will be given the information from the teacher to tutor the child but you need to be willing to work with the child for at least a semester.

Lunch Buddies: year long: You will meet with your student one time per week to have lunch. You can eat the school food or bring your own. The students are very excited to have a lunch buddy. The students get 30 minutes for lunch.

~ Donations ~
The following things are always in demand at the school. Drop them off at the school or bring to a monthly meeting. It’s easy!

~ Expo Markers (dry erase markers) ~ Glue sticks ~ Composition books, any color
~ Smaller boxes of crayons ~ Colored pencils ~ Regular markers ~ Facial Tissue
~ A check made out to Montclaire Elementary School is always welcome!
