CHOCHA Meeting Minutes
October 8, 2008

I. Call to order – 7:00pm
II. Roll call of Board Members
III. Minutes reviewed, accepted, and approved by K. Mumford, 2nd L. Wasik
IV. Current Issues
a. Entrance Lighting – The posts are in and ready for the 14ft lights that were ordered. We are hoping this project is completely by the end of November.
b. Park Damage – There is graffiti in Kingsway Park – various drawings and wording.
c. Lawn Service – There were no issues regarding the lawn service. The bid is up and we will be looking for a new contract for next year.
d. Snow Removal – We signed a new contract with the same company as last year – Snow Busters. It was decided due to financial constraints that we will salt only the intersections and entrance ways when needed. Each salting is $260.
e. Newsletter – Any ideas should be forwarded to K. Mumford. We will be looking forward to getting out another newsletter by December.
f. Garage Sales – The Board feels the garage sales went well, however, there were a few minor complaints about the people from outside the community coming in to our sub. An idea was brought up to place balloons only on the mailboxes who are participating in the garage sale. We will look into this for the next subdivision garage sale.
g. Financial Secretary – a new volunteer, Andrea Taito, will replace S. Fuoco as the Financial Secretary in December. She comes to the Board with many qualifications. S. Fuoco will stay on as the Secretary.
h. Welcoming Committee – The 3 new residents will be sent a small welcoming gift by CHOHA.
V. Treasurer’s Report – Current checkbook balance is $7,850.34. There are no new bankruptcies or collections. S. Fuoco will update the Past Due List in preparation for the upcoming 2009 billing cycle.
VI. Park Project – L. Baily received a good response with the park survey. Several suggestions are as follows: tear out old pathway, replace old pathway, keep ball field but update it, add a pavilion, get soccer nets, make a dog park, add more playground equipment, etc. It was decided for financial reasons to tear out the old pathway during Spring Clean Up, update ball field, and possibly get soccer nets. More discussion will follow.
VII. Events Coordinator – CHOHA needs help in this area. A. Taito has volunteered to help R. Lowe. We will be looking to plan for something next year.
VIII. Open Floor – There was a concern about the street signs being bent or stripped. Wayne County will come out and fix them once notified. L. Wasik will determine where and contact Wayne County.
IX. Next Meeting scheduled for December 3, 2008 has been cancelled. Therefore, the next meeting will be February 18, 2009.
X. Meeting Adjourned – 8:15pm
