Hazardous waste fluids leaking from Waste Management Trucks

Posted in: Sumner Village Comm

I know that management is working to resolve the problem of waste fluids leaking from the rusted and dilapidated Waste Management trucks. In addition to the potentially hazardous chemical and biological waste being leaked and tracked by the trucks throughout Sumner Village the trucks are are also leaking excessive amounts oil and Hydraulic fluids. I followed the trucks through Sumner Village and took photographs which I have provided to management. I simply wanted to alert the community to what I believe is a health hazard to people living and working in Sumner Village as well as a threat to pets and the local environment. Perhaps some measure of community action also directed at Waste Management Inc. would be of help to management's efforts to resolve the problem.  You can file a complaint directly with Waste Management Inc at the following Customer Service Call Center at 800-866-4460.

I would also propose that Waste Management Inc. take action to clean the roads and parking areas effected by the leaking waste, oil and hydraulic fuids. The company should provide professionals that are both equipped with the appropriate cleaning equipment and are trained to do so. In my opinion Sumner Village employees should not be putting their health at risk to do the cleaning.
