2018 Property Tax Bills Going Out this Month

Mecklenburg County will mail 2018 property tax bills by July 30, 2018. Tax bills are being sent for real property, individual personal property and business personal property taxes. These bills are due Sept. 1, 2018. The last day to pay to avoid delinquency is Jan. 7, 2019.

If a taxpayer is expecting a bill but does not get one by early August, the taxpayer should contact the office at 704-336-7600 or at the website of the Office of the Tax Collector.

Northern Regional Recreation Center Public Info Session Set for July 24

Mecklenburg County is planning a new regional recreation center in north Mecklenburg. 

On July 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the County’s Park and Recreation Department, along with the parks departments from the towns of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville, will host a public information session at Bailey Middle School, 11900 Bailey Road in Cornelius.

The community is invited to attend the meeting to learn about the results from the public surveys and the ongoing planning and design for the recreation center. A project overview and presentation will be made in the school cafeteria by the design team at 6:30 p.m. with an open forum for comments to follow.

Child Support Management Analyst Named to National Child Support Enforcement Association Board of Directors

Congratulations to Mecklenburg County Child Support Enforcement Management Analyst Linda Rhyne-McKinley. She has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Child Support Enforcement Association (NCSEA).

NCSEA is a national organization that strives to support child support professionals, agencies, and partners worldwide through professional development, public awareness and advocacy. Board candidates are voted on nationwide by NCSEA membership. Seats on this board are highly competitive with newly elected directors serving a three-year term, beginning in August. Rhyne-McKinley is also a 2017 graduate of NCSEA University as well as a current committee member of NCSEA Affinity. NCSEA will hold its annual Leadership Symposium Aug. 12 – 15 in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Beginning today, we will issue the Board Bulletin on a modified schedule for the remainder of the summer.

Upcoming editions will be released on Aug. 6 and 20.
