Does anyone know what it would take to change the mail system so that everyone doesnt have to walk a mile to get their mail ? I guess it seemed like a good idea back in the '80's but just like leg warmers community mail boxes are sooo not cool.

 I like the community mail boxes.  They lock and prevent people from stealing your mail and in turn your identity.  Walking alittle wont hurt anyone.

The only problem I have with our mail system is when the mail person leaves boxes at the front door.

 Walking is good for you!
