Bike Thefts

Posted in: SPAHA

Hi neighbors,

Today we had two bicycles stolen from our garage, and knowing from past experience, these things often get stashed somewhere in the neighborhood for later retrieval, I thought I would post. If you see them, please let us know: a black and blue Orbea Ordu triathlon race bike, and a black and white Royce Union mountain bike. The race bike in particular is very expensive, and not something one would normally ride casually. Please contact us, Paul and Dawn Menegazzi, if you come across either. 251-5951 or 334-7647

Thank you~

Are you unknowingly inviting a thief ?

District One - Crime Prevention as well as Patrol Zone Units driving through many communities in your area would like to share with you a common troubling observation…

Too many open garage doors !  You may think that this is not a crime prevention problem, but it truly is.  Most “casual burglars” operate and depend on open opportunities, and that is exactly what you are doing when you leave your garage door open.

Not only are you advertising the material possessions you have in your garage, you could potentially give access into your entire home.  Please keep in mind the following tips below.

Only keep your garage door open, when you are in it.

Keep a written record of all model numbers and serial numbers of your possessions.

Keep vehicle doors and windows locked & valuables out of sight.

If you would like additional information or crime prevention tips please call District One - Crime Prevention Unit – 354-6692.

Truancy Center 975-2018 / 975-2019 Report juveniles in your neighborhood during school hours.

Code Enforcement 274-5545 Report code violations such as overgrown lots and abandoned property.

Solid Waste 348-1112 Report illegal dumping.
