In a departure from previous advice, the Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC) will recommend that all Americans should wear face coverings when they go to the grocery store, pharmacy and other public places. This new guidance is meant to complement the existing Coronavirus Guidelines for America that are in place through April 30.
In a news briefing today, President Trump said his administration will soon release nationwide recommendations on wearing face masks. Previously, the CDC advised that only symptomatic people need to wear masks, partly to leave N95 and other medical-grade masks for health care workers who need them.
