Parking

Posted in: Ridge

Are there rules about after midnight parking in Cherokee Woods?  It would seem not, as it appears more than a few families don't have enough room in their driveways.

Does anyone have issues with cars parked on the street after midnight deadline?

I think it's a good restriction because parked cars in low light are hard to see at night. Also it helps maintain order for emergency response support and the overall look of the community.

I do think that there can be exceptions to the restrictions is situations when construction work is being performed for extended periods ie. dumpsters or construction materials that preclude parking in the driveway.  In those cases cars should be allowed to park for a short period (with a safety cone) until constructon is complete or dumpster is picked up.

Does anyone have issues with cars parked on the street past the midnight deadline?

Absolutely. The residents and their friends at 114 Darwin Dr constantly park in front of my home. I have been over there several times since I've bought my house and respectfully asked them to please at least move closer to their own driveway at least and still they continue to park directly in front of my house. At this very moment one of their girlfriends has their vehicle partially blocking my driveway now. And parked there on purpose. There's nobody even parked in front of their own home to keep them from parking there. I'm really not sure how to handle this situation but I thought there were deed restrictions protecting us from this very behavior.
