LIttle House in the Big Woods and No power

Posted in: Madison Park

So glad the power finally got turned back on.  Even though my house was in the last batch to come on after 29 hours.   It was so dark like being deep in the woods last night.   Hard to believe one tree coming up in a neighbors rear yard caused so many people ot not have power for more than 24 hours.

Thankful crews finally arrived shortly after 10 am to start the work.

They had their hands full having to repair multiple dmaaged utility poles in the rear yards along the ROW with no real easy access.

It really makes no sense to have power poles in non accessible areas.  If there was an alley (which I would not want) it might be different.

More than once special lifts have had to be used to access or work on poles in rear yards.  Sometimes causing privacy fences etc. to have to be taken down to gain access.

It would be so much easier if the poles were accessible at the street.   It is not like we don't have poles along the strreets with wires.   We have a lot of street lights.

If they are not going to be buried they should be on the row at the curb.

I think the line behind my house no longer continues down the tree line.  They appear to have deadended the line behind my house with 3 hours attaching to it for power.   Maybe that will help with issues in the future.
