Menomonee Valley Opening - job forum

Celebrate the Opening of the Pavilion: Oct 10

From opening of a remarkable stewardship pavilion designed and built by UWM students, to the Valley workforce forum, to the development of two new projects that will bring hundreds of jobs to the Valley -- this is an exciting time in the Menomonee Valley.

Please join us at 4:00pm, October 10th, to celebrate the completion of the Marcus Prize Pavilion, the new stewardship space for environmental activities in the Menomonee River Valley!

On-street parting is located just off Canal Street, west of 35th Street, at the chimneys.  The Pavilion is a short walk south along the path following the 35th Street Viaduct.

The Marcus Prize Pavilion, designed and built as part of the Marcus Studio at the School of Architecture & Urban Planning, has been the focus of the students and faculty since January 2008.  The studio was led by the Marcus Prize winners, Barkow Leibinger Architects, Germany, and Professor Kyle Talbott.  The building will be used by environmental groups, youth organizations, and Valley employees who are participating in the active stewardship of the Hank Aaron State Trail and acres of newly created native landscapes in the Valley.

We hope you can join us for this celebration!

Valley Workforce Forum: November 6

This spring, more than 100 people attend the Valley's first Workforce Forum.  The unique format allowed participants to gain new connections to Valley businesses.  One person said, "This was the best 2 hours I have ever invested.  Just getting the informal face-to-face time with employers was fantastic."

Even during tough economic times, Valley businesses are looking for good employees and need multiple channels for recruitment.  Come to this event designed to help Valley employers expand their networks and develop new relationships with organizations that help people find jobs.

We welcome those who, in formal and informal roles, help people find jobs, including service organizations, school principals, guidance counselors, pastors, etc. This is not a job fair. Individual job seekers should not attend.
