Hi Cathy, Boy, do I remember Sunshine Park. That's where I first heard Elvis Presley! They used to have "Saturday night" dances there in the fifties, not to mention the summer carnival every year in June. David Davies meat packing (slaughter house) was there also, smelled up the whole area. I lived in the "projects" right there on Rich street. It was a nice place then. We could play outside all night with no concerns.
Where is everyone?

I remember it cost .10 to get in the swimming pool. Sometimes it was hard to find a dime to go, but when we did we sure had fun. Do you remember the Colombini's? The Cheshire's? They were old friends of mine and my family. So nice to hear from you! |

Those names are not familiar to me. I also do not remember a swimming pool at Sunshine Park when I was a kid. It must have been added after I left and went into the army in 1957 where I spent the next 20 years. I then went to work for the army as a civil servant for 23 years in Washington state where I still live. |

I know the pool was there in the '60's. Did you go to Central and Starling? I graduated from Central in 1969. |
