Just sending out a reminder about the Soldiers Home 7th Annual Reclaim Our Heritage days that takes place next weekend.  This is a free event!!   Tour the historic buildings, see history come to life and support Veterans past and present.   

This year they have several exciting events; first they are saluting the women of service.  See ROH links below for all the events scheduled surrounding the women of service.

Second and most important, they are video taping their "Positively Patriotic Parade", which takes place at 10 am Saturday.  This DVD will be made available to families who currently have a loved one serving in the Armed Forces.  But we need your help to make the DVD a success.   We need to have people come out and line the streets wearing red, white and blue clothing, holding up support signs, banner and waving flags.   The ROH event take place on the grounds behind the VA hospital located on 50th & National Avenue. 

This year (Saturday only) we have a time line of American Firepower.  Reeactors, Veterans and active-duty military representing all of the eras of US history will demonstrate weapons, vehicles, military innovations, uniforms and tactics.  The times are approximate.

 Noon  - Modern Military Extractions Demo

12:30 - Colonial era, Recoluntionary and Mexcian Wars

1:30 - Civil War, Indian Wars, Spanish-AM War  (yes, they will be firing a canon)

2:30 - WWI, WWII, Korean and Vietnam
