Lowes has the Giant Paper Bags for leaves

Posted in: Madison Park

If you wish to switch to the desired paper bag for leaves this year, Lowes now has the large paper bags for collecting leaves and placing them streetside.

Why is this preferred.   Paper bags can be composted where plastic bags must be removed either by hand or bag ripping machines.  Timely costly methods.  Plus it is about impossible to get all the plastic out of the mulch product that the county sells.   You can help big time by using paper or putting leaves in open top trash containers etc.   The leaf burrito is still an option for leaves.  Placing leaves on open tarps is not an acceptable option.

County is also going to have some paper bags for distribution again for free at some point in the near future.    I believe the county spent 30K on this free bag education program that will roll out soon.

The Lowes store I was in today was in Dilworth and the bags were directly inside the front door on a pallet on your left.   That was on 10/2/19.
