The Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership’s LIHEAP Subsidy Program begins on November 2, 2009. LIHEAP, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, provides financial assistance to help low income residents of Louisville pay their utility bills. The benefit amount that a household receives is based on its level of poverty and the type of fuel used for heating. The Subsidy component operates this year from November 2 through December 11, 2009. All residents wishing to apply are required to have an appointment. Appointments will be scheduled, in person only, beginning Monday, October 26, 2009 at all three CAP locations: Monday, October 26, 8 am - 4 pm Central Office -- Urban Government Center, 810 Barret Avenue, Room 134, 40204; 502-574-1157 Starting November 2, 2009 appointments will be held at each office each weekday from 8 am to 1 pm (no Friday appointments at the East Office), based on appointment availability. Upon registering for an appointment, residents will receive an appointment slip verifying the appointment date, time and location. LIHEAP applications will be completed at the time of the appointment. (All offices will be closed November 3, November 26 and November 27, 2009.)
