Limberlost Neighborhood Association Facts
* Limberlost Neighborhood Association (LNA)is one of 26
organized neighborhoods in Ward III (Jerry Anderson,
City Councilman, Ward III) and of many more city-wide.
* LNA was created in July 1999 by three neighbors (Marla
Morgan, Carlos Nagel and Laurie Haskett), working with
Andrea Ibanez of the Ward III office.
* Current Projects:
* Meeting with neighborhood businesses to encourage
awareness of and involvement with the LNA.
* The Stone Avenue Wall Art Project- between Calle
Arizona and Roger at the "S" curve. Paint, sculpture,
and mosaic on the wall. Landscaping around the wall.
And an artistically designed bus shelter at the end.
* Direct input to the Stone Avenue Corridor Study to
recommend improvements and help implement them.
* Election of officers for the first year and applica-
tion for association status.
* "Walk-abouts" - informal treks around the neighborhood
to meet everyone.
* Sponsoring the "Netty" van (a recreational equipment
van for city-wide events)from Citizen and Neighborhood
Services to provide recreational equipment atthe Straw
Bale Raising day at Sonora Co-Housing on Roger Road.
* Addressing neighborhood concerns such as inappropriate
and/or loud noise, wandering shopping carts and
suspicious activity alerts.
* Bring available community resources and dates to the
attention of the membership.
* Bring proposed development and zoning changes to the
attention of the members.
* Future Projects:
* Sponsoring a Block Party
* Community Clean-up Days
* Youth activites
* Meetings occur the Fourth Wednesday of the Month
