Nothing Else goes in your Green Recycling Carts in Charlotte, Mecklenburg!

Anything else is considered trash, and if you bag recyclables they bcome trash.

Trash in the stream cost around 2 MILLION extra bucks to Mecklenburg Citizens in coat to haul from recycling center to the Speedway Landfill.   This does not include damage and breaks downs from wrong items in the recycling cans.   Also you have to factor in injuries to staff in the center from improper items.

There are a limited number of items that can be taken to full service centers in Mecklenburg County.  Self service centers take the same items you can put curb side in your green carts.   Full service centers have the same bins as green cans at curb, but also take some larger items.
