As of this date, 71 homeowners have paid their annual fee.  This is a little less than half of all the homeowners in the community.   Thankfully those people did pay which enabled us to still maintain the common areas (entrances, access lot, detention area) throughout the year.  Without their payments, we would have not had the money to pay for the mowing this year.   The invoices went out in June and here we are about 4 months later with over half the homeowners not paying.  And to add insult to injury, those non-payers will cost the paying homeowners more to send out reminder notices for payment (postage, paper, envelopes, not to mention the time it takes to prepare them).  To top it all off,  36 of those homeowners are delinquent 1-3 years previous plus this year.  If just even those people paid, there would be enough to pay for maintaining the common areas for the next couple years.  But instead, they have chosen to ignore the needs of the community--while enjoying the benefits--on the pockets of the homeowners who have faithfully paid their fees.  It is no secret that the homeowners have expenses (gifted to us by MI Homes).  All anyone needs to do is look at the Association Expenses (which are all listed on our website) to see that those common areas just don't get magically maintained.  To give some people the benefit of the doubt, they may have misplaced the fee invoice, forgotten about it or are having financial difficulty.  Considering that this year's invoice for $30.00 actually represents $10 for 2007, $10 for 2008 and $10 for 2009, I'm really finding it hard to figure why someone would refuse to pay it.  Oh well, after the reminder notices go out (probably October or November) we'll see how many homeowners respond with their fair share of the common area expenses or choose to ignore it and let the paying homeowners carry the whole burden.  Just think what the common areas would look like if they were all overgrown with grass, weeds, poison ivy and who knows what else !!!!

Why don't  you post the people that haven't paid yet ? You always have in the past . What is different this year ?
